Data Deletion Instructions

Last updated:

1. Overview

This page explains how to delete the data Haze Clips holds about you. There are two routes: a set of controls you can use yourself inside the app right now, and a full account deletion you request by email. Both are described below in enough detail to follow step by step.

If you connected a Meta account (Facebook, Instagram, or Threads) to Haze Clips and want that connection and its data removed, see Delete data yourself for the immediate option, or Request full account deletion to remove everything.

2. Delete data yourself

These controls are available in the app once you are signed in. They take effect immediately and do not require contacting us.

Delete your account and all of your data

  • Sign in and go to Settings → Security.
  • Under Delete account, select Delete account.
  • Type your email address to confirm, then select Permanently delete my account.

Deletion runs immediately. Your account, content, connected platforms, publishing history, and analytics are removed, and any active subscription is cancelled. You are signed out as soon as it completes. This cannot be undone — see What gets deleted for the full list.

If you would rather we do it for you, or you can no longer sign in, use the email route instead.

Disconnect a social account (removes your access tokens)

  • Sign in and go to Settings → Publishing.
  • Find the connected platform — Facebook, Instagram, Threads, TikTok, YouTube, X, LinkedIn, or Pinterest.
  • Select Disconnect.

Disconnecting deletes the stored connection record for that platform, including the encrypted access and refresh tokens we hold for it. We stop being able to read from or publish to that account. Your history of past publish attempts is kept — see What we keep, and why — and is removed when you delete your account.

Delete videos and clips

  • Deleting a source video removes that video, every clip generated from it, and the underlying media files from our storage.
  • Deleting a project removes the project and all videos and clips inside it, along with their media files.

Both actions are permanent and cannot be undone.

Turn off marketing email

Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or the preferences page it links to, to stop marketing messages. This does not delete your account or your data.

3. Request full account deletion

If you cannot sign in, or you would prefer we handle it, you can ask us to delete your account instead of using the control in Settings.

Email support@hazeclips.com with the subject line Data deletion request.

Please include:

  • The email address on your Haze Clips account. Sending your request from that address is the fastest way for us to verify you.
  • Whether you want your entire account deleted, or only specific data — for example, only your connected Meta accounts and the posts published through them.

We verify that the request comes from the account holder before deleting anything. If you write from a different address, we will reply to the address on the account to confirm. We do this to stop someone else from deleting your work.

We acknowledge every request within 5 business days and complete verified deletions within 30 days. You do not need an active subscription to make a request, and we do not charge for it.

4. What gets deleted

When you request full account deletion, we permanently remove:

  • Your account. Your login credentials and profile — email address, name, and avatar — and your onboarding and notification records. After this you can no longer sign in.
  • Connected platform tokens. The encrypted access and refresh tokens, account handles, and page or profile identifiers for every platform you connected, including Meta (Facebook, Instagram, Threads), TikTok, YouTube, X, LinkedIn, and Pinterest.
  • Published-post records. Our log of every post published or attempted through Haze Clips — the caption, the destination platform, the resulting post link, timestamps, and any error details — plus any posts still queued or scheduled.
  • Analytics data. The engagement metrics we collected for your published posts — views, likes, comments, shares, reach, and saves, including the raw insights payloads returned by each platform — and your usage records.
  • Your content and media files. Source videos, generated clips, rendered exports, thumbnails, transcripts, b-roll, uploaded music, and brand kits, including the underlying files in our storage.
  • Product data. Projects, batches, API keys, in-app notifications, and your email and two-factor records.

If you ask us to delete only your Meta data rather than your whole account, we remove the Meta connection tokens, the publish records for posts sent to Meta platforms, and the analytics collected for those posts, and we leave the rest of your account intact.

5. What we keep, and why

A small amount of data survives account deletion because we are required to keep it or because it is no longer linked to you:

  • Billing and tax records. Invoices, payments, and refunds are retained for as long as tax and accounting law requires. These are held by our payment processor, Stripe, as well as by us.
  • Security and audit logs. Records of administrative actions and security events are kept in a form that does not identify you where possible.
  • Aggregated statistics. Counts and totals that can no longer be traced back to you or your account.
  • Backups. Deleted data can persist in encrypted backups for a short period before those backups age out. It is not restored to the live service.

6. Posts already published to other platforms

This is important. Deleting your Haze Clips data does notremove posts that Haze Clips already published to Facebook, Instagram, Threads, TikTok, YouTube, X, LinkedIn, or Pinterest. Once a post is live on one of those platforms, that platform holds its own copy and it is governed by that platform's terms.

We delete our record of the post and its metrics. To remove the post itself, delete it in the platform's own app, or use that platform's data deletion process. If you want your Meta account's data removed by Meta, you can also do that from your Facebook or Instagram account settings.

7. Timeline

  • Immediate. Self-serve deletions — disconnecting a platform, deleting a video, a clip, or a project — take effect as soon as you confirm them.
  • Within 5 business days. We acknowledge your emailed request and confirm your identity if needed.
  • Within 30 days. We complete verified deletion requests and email you to confirm the work is done.

If a request will take longer than 30 days for a reason outside our control, we will tell you before that window closes and explain why.
