The editor: framing and auto-frame
A clip cut from a widescreen source has to choose what stays in the vertical frame. Haze Clips frames the speaker for you when the clip is created, and the editor lets you change the aspect ratio and move the window yourself.

Set the aspect ratio
The Aspect ratio switch in the editor header offers 9:16, 1:1 and 16:9. The preview re-crops immediately and the render uses the same choice.

Let auto-frame run
The first time a clip opens, a pill over the preview reads "Auto-framing the speaker…" while the face is found and the window is centred on it — the Horizontal value you later see under Framing is where it landed. It frames once, at creation; the panel's own note says continuous face-tracking is still to come.

Adjust the window in Effects
Click the Effects tile and find Framing. Horizontal and Vertical slide the visible window; Zoom scales it from 1.00× up. Moving any slider cancels auto-frame for this clip and keeps your position.

Reset if you overshoot
Reset framing under the sliders returns the window to centre at 1.00×. The Motion, Transitions and Color grade sections on the same panel are independent of framing.

Good to know
- Ken Burns zoom under Motion adds a slow push-in on top of your framing — turn it off if the subject already fills the frame.
