Import from YouTube
If the long video is already on YouTube you do not need the file. The From YouTube tab downloads a public video of up to three hours, adds it to your library and runs the same clipping pipeline as an upload.

Switch to From YouTube
On Home, click the From YouTube tab next to Upload file. The composer swaps the dropzone for a URL field.

Paste the link
Paste the video address into the field that reads "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=…". Only public videos work, and the limit is three hours.

Pick the clip count and, if you like, a prompt
Set Clips (Auto is the default). Open "Custom prompt (optional) — guide the clip selection" to tell the AI what to look for, for example "Focus on the Q&A segments. Skip the intro." Up to 1,000 characters.

Press Import
The button reads Importing… while the video is fetched, then "Added: <title> (duration) — generating N clips. We'll email you when it's ready." The project appears under Projects straight away.

Good to know
- Without a prompt the default is to pick the most attention-grabbing moments suitable for short-form social.
- Private, members-only and age-gated videos cannot be imported — download the file and upload it instead.
