Autopilot: clip and post new uploads on a schedule

Autopilot builds on auto-import from YouTube. When a new upload from your channel is imported, Autopilot picks its best clips, makes them, and posts them at the times you choose. It is part of the paid plans (Pro, Studio and Agent).

  1. 1

    Turn on auto-import first

Click Publishing in the sidebar and point Auto-import from YouTube at your channel. Connect the accounts you want Autopilot to post to on the same page. Autopilot only works on uploads that auto-import brings in, from the moment you switch it on: nothing older is picked up.

  2. 2

    Choose where and how many

Click Autopilot in the sidebar. Under Post to, choose your platforms: YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Pinterest or Threads. TikTok is not offered, because TikTok needs your own privacy choices for each post; post there from the clip's Publish card. Then choose how many clips to take from each new video, 1 to 5. Autopilot takes the highest-scoring ones, and each uses plan minutes just like Generate video.

  3. 3

    Set your posting times

Add the days and times you want clips to go out, up to 3 a day, and pick your time zone. Each clip takes the next free time, so clips from a long video spread across the week instead of posting at once.

  4. 4

    Approve, or post automatically

By default each finished clip waits under Waiting for you, and you get a notification. Edit its caption if you like, then press Approve to schedule it or Skip to drop it. Choose Post automatically if you want clips scheduled without approval. Switch Autopilot on and press Save.

When does Autopilot pause itself?

It stops and tells you when your plan's monthly minutes or clips run out, or when three clips in a row fail to be made or posted. Posts it had queued are cancelled until you resume. The reason shows at the top of the page. Fix it, then press Save and resume.

Switching Autopilot off cancels the posts it has queued that have not gone out yet; those clips stay approved and take new posting times if you switch it back on.

Good to know

  • Captions use {title} for the clip's title, so "{title} #podcast" adds a hashtag to every post.
